Youth employment

The search for the apprentice team of the year engaged young people to do good in their communities and raise awareness of apprenticeships. Run in partnership with young person’s development charity Brathay Trust, the Brathay Apprentice Challenge 2013 engaged over 100,000 14-18 year olds through peer-to-peer advocacy alone, recruited over 50 new employers to hire apprentices and delivered a better apprenticeship experience for participants.

  • 52% increase in Twitter mentions year-on-year for the Challenge
  • 586 pieces of media coverage (64% year on year increase)
  • One in 20 young people heard about the Challenge
  • 10% of employers made aware of the Challenge
