One Direction, Katy Perry, Cadbury’s and Facebook are not normally associated with Engineering in Britain. The inaugural #TEWeek13 used popular culture to give engineering a makeover and make it a career option for teens, in particular girls.

200+ schools and 70 engineering organisations took part in 65 events

26% of 11-14 year olds heard about the campaign

56% of those were triggered to consider a career in engineering

The campaign was praised by Secretary of State Vince Cable
