Phillipa Williams

Strategy Director

Phillipa Williams

Phillipa has tried to spend her career tackling issues of social justice and equality.

She spent ten years at the health charity Versus Arthritis, where she led the organisation’s strategic communications, brand and social marketing activity. Her work was primarily focused on challenging the dismissal and apathy associated with arthritis; giving voice to, and amplifying, the experiences of people with arthritis to drive societal and system change.
Her teams worked on multi-faceted, creatively led, social marketing campaigns, as well as media relations, social media, brand and customer experience and engagement.

She was part of the executive team that led the merger of the charities Arthritis Research UK and Arthritis Care. One of her proudest moments was working with colleagues and partners to create the Versus Arthritis name and brand proposition.

Prior to entering the charity sector, Phillipa worked on strategic communications and behaviour change campaigns at the agency, Fishburn Hedges. Her work spanned a wide range of social issues – from sexual health and stopping smoking to digital exclusion and promoting adult literacy.

Outside of work, Phillipa is a mum of two young children. She spends her time stacking the dishwasher, emptying the nappy bin and making some very impressive Duplo statues.
