We’re delighted to be joining colleagues across the Behavioural Science in Public Health Network (BSPHN) community for this year’s conference at Leicester De Montfort University on 9th & 10th March.

The event brings together practitioners, academics, and innovators who are passionate about tackling complex public sector challenges through behavioural science and we’re excited to be part of the conversation again.

Our team will be hosting a very special workshop, sharing insights from some recent projects and exploring how behavioural science can drive more equitable, community‑centred health outcomes.

Our Contributions to the Programme

Across the two-days, we’ll be contributing to four sessions that spotlight practical, scalable approaches to behaviour change and system transformation.

Monday 9 March – Pre‑Conference Workshop:

  • Citizen Circles: Taking Co‑Production Beyond the Buzzwords (Tiago Moutela, Ian Fannon & Emily Rayner) We’ll introduce our Citizen Circles methodology: a structured, community‑led approach that aims to embed lived experience into strategic decision‑making across health and social care. For organisations looking to strengthen community voice in system change, this is a session not to miss.

Tuesday 10 March – Main Conference Presentations:

  • Community Connectors in North East London (Marta Campagnola) Showcasing our work with the North East London Cancer Alliance, we’ll explore how innovative behaviourally‑informed campaigns and local connectors can improve cancer screening uptake.
  • What Truly Engages Communities in Healthy Lifestyle Services? (Emily Rayner) Together with Maximus UK and Cambridgeshire County Council, we’ll share key behavioural insights into what communities value, need, and respond to when accessing healthy lifestyle support.
  • COMMIT to Change: Tackling Smoking Inequalities in Gloucestershire (Tiago Moutela) In partnership with Gloucestershire County Council, we’ll dive into how communitycentred, behaviourally informed approaches shaped the county’s new smokingcessation service. Drawing on insights from over 100 smokers, we’ll share key findings and introduce COMMIT, a framework designed to help local systems better tailor support and services to the needs of priority groups.

If you’re also attending we’d love to see you there! And if you’ve not got your tickets yet, there is still time!

The BSPHN Podcast

We’re also thrilled to highlight the relaunch of the BSPHN podcast featuring the new co-host and current CEO of the BSPHN, Paul Chadwick, alongside our very own Associate Director, Tiago Moutela, who is returning as co-host after a temporary hiatus.

In the first episode in the new series, Tiago interviews Paul about his “origin story”, the BSPHN’s new mission to mainstream behavioural science into public sector service delivery, and why they are not rebranding the BSPHN acronym just yet!
